The History of Gruppe Heat

From a small file manufacturer to a specialist in heat treatment.

1933

Fritz Junge founded a file manufacturer in Auerbach/Saxony.
1958

The company settles with a small salt bath heat treatment in the area of Herzberg/Harz.
1972

In the industrial area Aue in Herzberg/Harz, a new salt bath heat treatment line is constructed.
1976

In order to round off the services provided, the construction of a mechanical production commences.
1980

The step-by-step realisation of heat treatment possibilities using gas, vacuum and plasma begin.
1996

The heat treatment company Wolf in Bremen is taken over and the subsequent renaming to Härtereitechnik Bremen GmbH, with a new building in Stuhr occurs.
1997

Addition heat treatment capacities are created via a new site in Norderstedt/Hamburg.
1998

All three sites are renamed to Gruppe HEAT, as well as the entire group receiving certification according to DIN EN ISO 9002 QS 9000 and 6.1 rules.
2001

Certification according to DIN EN ISO 9002: 1994 and ISO/TS 16949:1999 (in alignment with VDA 6.1 and QS 9000) is successfully completed.
2002

Certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001: 2000 and the routine surveillance audit ISO/TS 16949:1999 is approved.
2003

Successful certification according to ISO/TS 16949:2002 and the routine surveillance audit according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.

Together with the company Cieffe, a two-chamber nitriding and nitrocarburising system with high-pressure gas quenching is developed.

2004

With the company UKM Antriebstechnik GmbH, Gruppe HEAT SAXONY GmbH in Reinsberg is founded.
2006

Gruppe HEAT THALE GmbH is founded. Gruppe HEAT THALE GmbH is part of the competence centre for the automotive industry.
2008

The company celebrates its 75th anniversary with grand festivities.
2013

Construction of the production site in Turkey.
2014

Production in Thale is merged with the company headquarters in Herzberg.
